22 Years of Celebrating “Nuestras Mamas de la Communidad” our Community Mothers

For the past 22 years, Advance Community (formerly Esperança) has celebrated the mothers in the community we serve. Forget Hallmark cards and brunch reservations! We celebrate the vibrant heart of Mexican culture with Día de las Madres, a celebration unlike any other. On May 10th each year, Mexico explodes in a day dedicated to the irreplaceable women who hold families together.

This isn’t just about flowers and gifts (though those are lovely too). Día de las Madres is steeped in tradition, dating back to 1922. Imagine serenading your mom with mariachi music at sunrise! Schools and communities buzz with activity, while families gather for feasts overflowing with delicious Mexican food. It’s a day that not only honors mothers, but also celebrates the enduring strength of family – the backbone of Mexican society. Rosa, a valued member of our community expressed gratitude for the Advance Día de las Madres event, as it evoked memories of the celebrations in her home country.

So, ditch the ordinary and embrace the extraordinary. Experience the warmth, the music, the delicious food, and the genuine love that defines Día de las Madres. It’s a celebration that will stay with you long after May 10th.
